Adopt A Road

Since 2004 Pittsgrove Democrats “Clean Up” Our Community

Members of the Pittsgrove Democrat Association (PDA) teamed up with members of the Wulderk and Timberman families to conduct a road clean up along Porch town Road. The PDA adopted a road in 2004, in memory of Nick Wulderk, former Woodstown Councilman, graduate of Schalick High School and dear friend to many PDA members.

The two mile section of Porchtown Road between Upper Neck Road and Garden Road is

closest to the Township recycling center and is heavily littered. Over the last year PDA members have logged over 80 hours picking up over 2000 pounds of trash along the heavily traveled roadway.

“ The most commonly found items include WaWa coffee cups, McDonald’s food

wrappers and beer bottles, “ stated Joe Lindemier PDA President, “but the tires &

batteries which have been found can be the most damaging to the environment.

It is important to get those items properly disposed of.”

Pittsgrove Township residents are reminded to tarp their vehicles when they bring

items to the recycling center to prevent items from blowing out of their containers and ontothe side of the roadway”, stated Pete Voros, Pittsgrove Township Mayor and road clean up volunteer. “Everyone needs to do their part to keep our community beautiful. It would be great to have every county and municipal road in Pittsgrove adopted by a volunteer organization or individual”

If you would like to help keep Pittsgrove beautiful, join the PDA at their next two road cleanups later this year. Contact them at 358-8066 for the scheduled dates and times.

Salem County Adopt-A-Road Program is run by the Salem County Utilities Authority.
